SESSIONS
On the day of your session, please arrive 15 minutes early. You will start by showing your photographer the outfits that
you have selected to wear. He will show you black and white contemporary close-ups to see if you would like to incorporate
this style in your session.
If you have any specific concerns about your clothing, poses, or body type, tell your photographer. We pride ourselves on
creative and different senior portraits. That is what sets Total Image Photography apart from all the other studios in
northern IL. Please understand that our photographers treat each senior differently and design sets especially for you and
your wardrobe. Let our photographers do their job. They love to create something new for each individual. They will match
your clothing and personality with creative sets right before your eyes. We welcome your ideas and suggestions and want the
best for your senior portraits, so let us create images especially for you.
CLOTHING TIPS
Variety is the key to your session. The photographer will have a harder time creating a session with variety if all of your
outfits are the same color. A general rule for clothing is solids. Simple is usually better. Trendy or outrageous outfits
are great for one or two outfits during your session. The number one suggestion for clothing is... make sure it fits. If you
feel comfortable you will look comfortable. This is important in posing during your session. Skirts and shirts that are
too tight will wrinkle in all the wrong places.
Yearbook poses and black and white contemporary close-ups do not require matching the outfit below the waist. Only your
top will show. Black and white contemporary close-up poses require a dark top. Light colors will not photograph well for
this type of portrait. The perfect yearbook outfit would be dark colored and long sleeved. DO NOT WEAR SLEEVELESS OR SHORT
SLEEVES. No tank tops please.
HAIR
Please arrive at the studio with hair and makeup complete except for minor touch ups. If you want to change your hairstyle
during the session, tell the photographer prior to starting your session. REMEMBER... the longer you take in the dressing room,
the less time in the camera room.
PETS
If you're bringing an animal to be included in your session, please notify us when you book your session. We request that you
bring someone with you to take care of the animal outdoors until we are ready for it in your portrait. We cannot allow animals
to remain indoors for the entire length of your session. Small animals that are in pet carriers are welcome to stay indoors
throughout the entire session.
